Rothko home

Not Gone. Not Forgotten.
Here's a novel idea. You want a live album - so you contact the three people who have recorded your gigs for their own listening over the years, collate and pick out some nice tracks and release as a live album. Brilliant!

This album finds Rothko at their most naked and vulnerable - in the live area. Trying to play quiet pieces while the crowd continues to talk, which is really noticeable on some tracks, (on 'For Danny' you can even hear someone's mobile phone), but whenever you ever saw them in London was simply a fact of life.

It's a nice span of dates too - from the first ever gig at the Hope & Anchor on 31st July 1997, to the last but one at The Spitz on 4th June 2001. In between there are some old favourites and some one off's that you can't hear anywhere else.

This album is really the only one that has captured them in their true environment, where they pushed the boundaries and constantly surprised and shocked anyone who hadn't seen them before.

If you ever saw them live in their previous incarnation, then this album is a must. It captures all that was unique in their style and presence.
