Seafood - London, Borderline Wednesday 20th October 1999
Got to the venue early to help out 'Clean Shaven Fanzine' with an interview with the band. Notable points being the debut album ('Surviving The Quiet') should be out in January, and a mini tour outside of London in November.

How many people can they squeeze into this place? It must have been sold out...and how many Japanese girls are here? A short tour of Japan should be a consideration...they would go down a storm...just as Idlewild have.

A perfect set went off without a hitch. 'Easy Path', 'This Is Not An Exit', 'Porchlight' and 'Psychic Rainy Nights' were belted out as if they were classics...and by now they are. I really must start to take a notepad to these gigs...I can never remember the set list! Excellent sound and perfectly executed songs made for a very memorable night. This is one of the best performances I've seen from them, and recognition, really must be only just around the corner.

The crowd had an excellent time. Monitors were nudged and moved, as the crowd jumped up and down, while David and Kevin rolled around the stage, with feedback in perfect harmony. Look out all you Indie pretenders! Take a peek at this band, and take down notes...this is how it should be done!

The last single, 'This Is Not An Exit', has had constant airplay from EXfm and Radio 1, but only got into the charts at number 91. (Number 6 in the Indie charts.) As Kevin noted to the audience..."the last single got to number 96...this one charted at number 91...at this rate, by 2010, we should get into the top 40!"

You deserve to be in the top 40 now my boy!
