Brooks Air Fuel C-54G force landed five miles from this airfield on 17 January 2007. It was fully loaded with fuel on a flight from Fairbanks to Nixon Fork Mine, when a fire in the number 2 engine was unable to be extinguished, causing a wheel-up landing as it couldn't make to any airfield. It was later transported to Nenana for storage.
