From Max Tundra's crazy paving anti-disco, through the mediaeval psychedelia of Stars In Battledress and The Monsoon Bassoon's amazing lysergic rock, onto some rampant prog-metal madness courtesy of American Heritage, this is an invigorating roster of many colours all united by a singular common desire: to create intelligent, individual music which challenges both the musician and the listener.

Whether as an introduction to a whole new way of life, or simply a re-acquaintance with old friends, this is pretty damned essential. We await further developments with great interest.
