Vex Red - London, The Scala Thursday 25th January 2001
Two gigs in one night - I had to be quick but it could be done. Vex Red at The Scala supporting Raging Speedhorn - this would be well worth the money to see this excellent up and coming band. I have seen them play some very small local venues, and it was good to see them play their first big London gig. It suited them I must say, and it looked like they enjoyed themselves.

Their big sound came across very well with the large sound system, and they seemed to go down well with the people who had bothered to check out the third support band, considering they are not really metal. (In my view at least.) Terry still managed his great rapport with the crowd of old - it was as if he was still talking to people in the Aldershot West End Centre, and not some big scary place where no one's heard of you. Respect!

They deserve the success that will no doubt come now that they are signed, and the music industry will be all the better for it. The photographers were having a bit of a feeding frenzy too!
