Hohnholz Fire, Rocky Mountain Metro, CO, USA (KBJC) - 3 June 2013

The wildfire season in Colorado kicked off at the beginning of June and then simply exploded.

One of the first fires that required aviation support was the Hohnholz Fire near the border with Wyoming. Air Tractor SEAT (Single Engine Air Tanker) 888 was dispatched from the Jeffco Tanker Base at Rocky Mountain Metro Airport on 3 June. The Hohnholz Fire is thought to have been human caused.

At that time this was the only aircraft in the State that was already on contract, pending more coming online in the following weeks.
